Garmin has released a new beta software update, version 18.23, for the Vivoactive 6 smartwatch. The update targets several bugs, focusing on device stability and tracking accuracy during workouts.
Everything Fixed in Beta Update 18.23
This release resolves a frustrating issue where pace and speed metrics could suddenly drop out, which was happening most frequently during high-intensity interval training.
Garmin has also tackled a cluster of system stability bugs that caused the Vivoactive 6 to reboot or crash unexpectedly. The device should no longer reset when saving a completed activity, when opening the morning report, or when an incident detection alert is triggered. General sporadic reboots during everyday use have also been resolved.
In addition, the update fixes a display issue where the morning and evening summary reports would stay on screen instead of timing out automatically. A bug that caused silent mode to be ignored while activity focus mode was active has also been fixed. Finally, Garmin included general system translations and minor performance tweaks across the operating system.
