Garmin Drops New Beta Update 33.08 for Edge 1050, 850, 550, and MTB Device

Just one week after pushing out beta update 33.06, Garmin is back with another fresh release. The company has officially started rolling out beta software version 33.08 for several popular bike computers, including the Edge 1050, 850, 550, and MTB models.

What Is Inside the Change Log

  • Improved device stability and fixed various minor bugs

The new software version focuses heavily on making the hardware run smoother during long rides. According to Garmin, the update brings general improvements to overall device stability while squashing various minor bugs found in earlier builds. It is a quick maintenance update designed to keep your cycling computer running without unexpected crashes or lags.

How to Install the Update on Your Device

Getting the new software onto your bike computer takes only a few moments over a wireless connection. Make sure your Edge is connected to a local Wi-Fi network, then follow these simple steps:

  1. Open the Main Menu.

  2. Select System.

  3. Tap on About.

  4. Select Check for Updates to download and install version 33.08.

Note: If you see “Collecting diagnostics…” go to Menu > System > Diagnostics > Upload RAM Dump
