Garmin Launches New Beta Version 18.19 for Vivoactive 6: What’s New?

Garmin is rolling out a fresh software update for Vivoactive 6 users taking part in its beta testing program. The new firmware update, version 18.19, is packed with several bug fixes designed to make the overall user experience much smoother and more reliable.

If your smartwatch has been glitching lately, this patch aims to clean up those annoying everyday issues.

What Changes in the New Update

A major focus of version 18.19 is system stability. Garmin has resolved several underlying code bugs that were causing the watch to randomly crash and restart on its own. Fitness tracking also gets a small but important fix, resolving a problem where the running tolerance metric would incorrectly display as zero on the watch screen.

Syncing and display issues have also been addressed in this release. Users who edit their LiveTrack contacts directly on their watch will now see those updates reflect properly in the Garmin Connect mobile app. Additionally, screen layouts have been cleaned up so goal alerts during workouts no longer cut off text, and long text messages will no longer show up with extra blank spaces at the top.

Garmin also tackled a few audio and navigation bugs. A startling issue where music volume jumped to 100% whenever a timer went off during a workout has been patched, and nearly silent button tones have been restored to a normal volume level. Finally, for devices without a dedicated phone app, tapping the phone shortcut will now correctly take users straight to the phone connection settings menu.

How to Get Update 18.19

Garmin is making this patch available as a manual download for beta testers.

To grab version 18.19 right now, head into the Main Menu on your Vivoactive 6, tap Settings, select System, tap on Software Update, and choose Check For Updates.
