Garmin has started sending out its latest beta software update, version 29.04, for several popular running watches. This new patch comes roughly three months after the company released its previous beta build, version 28.03.
The update is currently available for the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955, and Forerunner 965.
What is fixed in this update?
- Fix an issue with syncing personal strength records to Garmin Connect.
- Fix an issue with configuring heart rate and power fields from Garmin Connect Mobile.
- Various bug fixes and improvements.
This update focuses primarily on system stability and fixing a few notable glitches tied to the Garmin Connect platform.
Most notably, the patch resolves an issue that prevented strength training personal records from properly syncing to the Garmin Connect app. Before this fix, some users found that their weightlifting PRs and gym milestones were not transferring over to their phone histories.
Garmin also addressed a problem with data customization. Watch owners can now configure their heart rate and power data fields directly through the Garmin Connect Mobile app without running into setup errors. Alongside these specific tweaks, the company included its standard batch of general bug fixes and background system improvements.
How to get update 29.04
Garmin is rolling out this software to users enrolled in its public beta program. If your watch has not downloaded the new software automatically over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, you can pull it manually directly from your wrist.
To check for the update on your watch, open the Main Menu, head into Settings, scroll down to System, select Software Update, and tap Check For Updates.
